I have always enjoyed study and learning. Beginning with the first class to be offered the opportunity at Vassar I studied Chinese there until graduation in 1971 and then continued at the University of British Columbia, but this was well before anyone could parlay that skill into a real job. Moving on, I found myself attracted to working in the financial services field because it required lifelong learning as well. I was certified as a CFP® in 1990 – one of the early ones. I’m a Leo, and so I naturally gravitate to leading or carving my own path. I began the firm that is now Erickson Advisors in 1991, still doing what I love – learning, leading and enjoying the progress I see in my clients’ reaching goals, defining and navigating many versions of a fulfilling retirement.
Along the way, I have enjoyed what some might call exotic travel – trekking in the Himalayas in Bhutan and the Caucasus Mountains next to Chechnya, and a recent low impact trip to Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
My greatest adventure, of course, has been raising my two amazing daughters, one of whom is now my partner in Erickson Advisors. This wonderful arrangement allows me to keep what has always been a flexible schedule and will allow me to continue working for as long as my clients will allow.
